For The Kids, By George! Children’s Museum

Located at 229 E Martin St Martinsburg, WV  25401. 

The For The Kids, By George! Children’s Museum features a Railway Heritage exhibit that explores life on the railroad, Tunnels Through Time where visitors can experience how life changed from one historic era to the next, a trip high above the train tracks to discover how train cars move people, animals and products, a 3-D virtual Bike Tour down the Washington Heritage Trail and a chance to learn more about young George Washington and the time he spent here before the Eastern Panhandle became our own West Virginia.

The Museum is open to the public on Saturdays from 10am-5pm and Wednesdays from 3-7pm.  Group Tour reservations for any day of the week can be made by calling the Museum at 304.264.9977.  Tickets are $6/person for all persons 2 years old and up; groups of 10 or more will enjoy a discount at $5/person.


 The Apollo Civic Theatre

The theatre, located at 128 East Martin Street, has been a Martinsburg cultural landmark since 1913. The Theatre produces six main-stage shows each year, as well as a summer youth production, and is host to other community events throughout the year – including the annual Haunted Theatre and Community Talent Extravaganza.

Galaxy Skateland

Provides fun for all ages! Through private parties and open skate nights, Galaxy offers roller skating and roller blading, music provided by a DJ, a light show, a three-story jungle gym, and arcade games.

JayDee’s Family Fun Center

Located just off Interstate 81 in Inwood, JayDee’s Family Fun Center features indoor and outdoor fun for the entire family! Indoor activities include the arcade, jungle gym, and nature zone. The outdoors feature batting cages, mini golf, water spray park with slides, go-karts, and train rides.

L. Norman Dillon Farm Museum

Located just off Route 9 between Martinsburg and Hedgesville, the Dillon Farm Museum features antique horse-drawn farm machinery and educational exhibits. It is open weekends April through October and hosts heritage celebrations in the Spring and Fall. Call 304.267.7519 for more information.

Parks & Recreation

Martinsburg and Berkeley County are home to over fifteen public parks and two public swimming pools. The Berkeley County BMX/Skatepark offers the opportunity to learn and ride. Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks and Recreation also hosts special events throughout the year, including summer concerts in the park, basketball “hoopfests,” and more.

Family friendly events throughout the year, including pick-your-own fruits, flowers and pumpkins, hayrides and festivals.

Pikeside Bowl

Hosts weekly youth and adult leagues, laser bowling, duckpin bowling and, of course, good old fashioned bowling! Perfect for a birthday party or an afternoon or evening of fun.

Wonderment Puppet Theater

Enchanting, year-round fun for kids and parents alike! Wonderment Puppet Theater produces six original puppet shows each year and features an exhibit hall, puppetry store, workshop, classroom, and birthday party room. Located on West King Street, about one mile from Interstate 81. Open Saturday and Sunday for public performances at noon and 2 pm.
