Are you ready to explore the world’s #1 county for geocaching?

Geocaching in Berkeley County is an unforgettable adventure that offers challenging caches for all experience levels. We have more than 57 active caches that have earned 100 favorite points or greater!

By partnering with amazing local cache creator WVTim, we’ve created memorable geotrails and that reward geocachers with a commemorative, trackable coin. Two of the favorite ways to experience these innovative caches are by exploring our Smart Caches of Berkeley County and Berkeley Gadgets geotrails

About Geocaching

New to geocaching? Have no idea what it is? No problem! We have caches for all experience levels. Geocaching is a treasure hunt that combines the use of technology and the outdoors that engages folks through GPS tracking and clues to find cache boxes. Caches can look like anything, from a tupperware container to a birdhouse or fake rock, and can either be hidden or in plain sight. Once a cache is found and opened, geocachers sign the log book inside the cache and return it to its hiding place before moving on to the next challenge!

Hidden Treasures GeoTrail

Introducing our sixth GeoTrail – “Hidden Treasures”

We invite you to visit Berkeley County, WV, for your first time or welcome your return back again. This year Berkeley County is celebrating its 250th anniversary. Berkeley County was established in 1772 in the state of Virginia. To help in the celebration, we are launching our Hidden Treasures GeoTrail! This trail will allow you to travel throughout the county and visit our hidden treasures while learning more about where we call home. Enjoy the back roads that follow the same paths that Native Americans traveled for hunting; see the areas where locals fought the Tories during the Revolutionary War, or it was brother against brother during the American Civil War. Experience what makes Berkeley County, WV, rich in history and culture.

The new trail goes live at noon on West Virginia Day, June 20.

Come celebrate with us GC8NNMF.
