Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation 

The Parks & Recreation Board has many wonderful parks throughout the county. These communities feature green spaces, special events, ball fields, swimming pools, a miniature golf course, playgrounds, trails, and a dog park. A 16 foot high climbing mountain and discovery niches can be found at the newly opened Children's Garden at Ambrose Park.

Go Wild!

Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area provides 23,000 acres for outdoor exploration. There are trails for hiking, biking, and birding, and the 205-acre Sleepy Creek Lake provides opportunities for boating (electric motors only), canoeing, kayaking, and fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, northern pike, and channel catfish.

Wonderment Puppet Theater

Wonderment Puppet Theater, a full time, year round puppet theater for families with several original shows every year. Permanent puppet theaters have been popular and numerous overseas for decades, but in the United States, only about 40 full-time puppet theaters exist. Wonderment Puppet Theater is the only existing one in West Virginia.
